History of Rotary in Maryport

The Rotary Club of Maryport, established on January 10, 1946, is a local chapter of Rotary International, a global organization dedicated to humanitarian service.

Over the years, the club has been involved in various community initiatives, including organizing outings for children with disabilities, supporting local youth clubs, and assisting the elderly. They have also contributed to international projects, such as providing facilities for children in deprived areas worldwide and supporting Rotary International's efforts to eradicate polio.

The club maintains strong connections with local organizations, including the Sea Cadet Unit and area schools. They host annual events like the Carol Concert at St. Mary's Church, which features performances from local schools.

Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at Redby's Coffee Shop on Senhouse Street in Maryport. For more information or to get involved, click here.

The club also organizes events such as the Maryport Classic Car & Vintage Vehicle Show, scheduled for August 9, 2025, at Netherhall Rugby Club.
